Meta Analysis and Weight Loss

Some of my recent posts reflect studies known as meta-analysis. What are they and are they good? Well they are reviews of already published scientific studies relative to the subject under consideration such as in this incidence weight loss. Are they good? well the answer is yes…no…and maybe. As with many other issues we must consider the source and design of the study. In science not all studies are equal. Some are flawed and do not take into consideration all the facts and variables.Generally when reading about a topic relative to your health and in this case weight, it is better to have a study that is “controlled” and “prospective “(looking forward rather than backward) .So when you see a meta-analysis be careful as to giving it too much credence.
